It's been brutally hot. The kind of hot where you stare into the fridge hoping something cold and magical will just appear. I wanted protein. I wanted something that tasted like lemon pound cake. And I really, really wanted it to feel like a thick, spoonable coffee-shop frappe, no straw required, just a cup and a spoon and bliss.

After some trial, error, and a whole lot of tinkering with the Ninja Slushi, we landed here. This recipe is a game changer. It takes your favorite protein powder and turns it into the creamiest, most refreshing slush you've ever met. It's sweet but not sticky, dense but not icy, and it tastes like a bakery lemon pound cake decided to go on a tropical vacation. If you're melting in this heat and have a Ninja Slushi on your counter, this one's for you.

You'll Need This First

The star of this recipe is Just Move's Grandma's Lemon Pound Cake Protein Powder. It's what gives this slush that creamy, lemon-pound-cake flavor without all the extra sugar.

Now, let's turn it into your new favorite summer treat.

🍋 Lemon Pound Cake Protein Slush (Party Batch)

Makes 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 6 cups unsweetened almond milk (chilled)

  • 4 scoops Just Move Grandma's Lemon Pound Cake Protein Powder

  • ½ cup allulose sweetener (essential for a soft, creamy texture)

  • 4 tablespoons sugar-free lemon instant pudding mix (or 1 level teaspoon xanthan gum)

  • 4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice (optional)

  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest (optional)

  • Yellow food coloring, if desired

Instructions

1. Blend the Base

In a large blender (or a large mixing bowl using an immersion blender), combine all ingredients and blend until completely smooth. Make sure no clumps of protein powder or pudding mix remain.

2. Chill the Mixture

Transfer the mixture to a large pitcher, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. The colder the mixture, the creamier your finished slush will be.

3. Make the Slush

Pour the chilled mixture into your Ninja Slushi vessel up to the MAX FILL line (though this receipe should make about 64oz).

Do not overfill.

Select Slush, and allow the machine to complete the full cycle.

4. Serve

The finished slush should be thick, creamy, and spoonable.

If you'd like it slightly thicker, run a short Frozen Drink cycle
